Perri,

I checked the book "The General Assembly of Virginia, July 30,
1619-January 11, 1918, A Bicentennial Register" Compiled by Cynthia
Miller Leonard.

Entries for Benjamin Morgan representing Clarke County in the House of
Delegates are:

P. 454 for the December 5, 1853-March 4, 1854 Session,
p. 464 for the December 7, 1857-April 8, 1858 Session,
p. 469 for the December 5, 1859-April 2, 1860 and January 7, 1861-April
4, 1861 Sessions,

There are not any entries for a John Morgan that represented Clarke
County, but there are entries for a John Morgan that represented Ohio

Subject: [VA-ROOTS] 1849-1863 VA House of Delegates Members

I've been following the thread on the VA legislature. After reading
that
two of my ancestors served for one or more terms, I've spent months
searching for information on the members of the VA legislature who
served
during the time period 1849-1863. Specifically, I'm looking for
Benjamin
Morgan & John Morgan, both of Clarke County, VA. I'm fairly certain
that
Benjamin served more than one term, though I don't know which years.
I'm
less certain about John, who was either Benjamin's father or his brother
(the reference doesn't clarify which John served).

I understand that biographical information will require additional
research,
but can anyone help verify if and when these two men served?

Thanks,

Perri Morgan
