I realize the NELSON family in VA is a big one, however, perhaps someone can
help me.

In conjunction with our Brentsville Courthouse restoration project, we have
ongoing research into Brentsville families and history. We have a record
that Thomas Nelson, Jr. did several surveys for the Town of Brentsville in
the early 1820's. His initial survey laid down the original plats for the
town after Brentsville was created by an 1820 Act of Assembly.

Would anyone know where I would go to begin to research who this was? I
don't think it is THE THOMAS NELSON, JR., Governor and Signer of the
Declaration of Independence, as the dates according to the Hornbook of VA do
not match.

Thanks in advance for all of your suggestions...

Chairman, Friends of Brentsville Courthouse Historic Centre
