I know how delicate stones can be. Visiting gravesites over 20 years has
made me acutely aware that the "here today, gone tomorrow" adage is so very
true. I have been rubbing the markings gently with flour and photographing
them. The first rain washes the flour away. Another favorite here is to mist
the stone with water. The former works great with carved out stones; the
latter with raised letters. If I am doing something to harm the stones, I need
to know. Any ideas?
