Greetings VA-ROL Members –

The records retention and disposition schedule for circuit courts (GS-12) has been undergoing a major review by a team of clerks, archivists, and Supreme Court and Library of Virginia staff members. The proposed results are available for your review in an MS Excel workbook, should you choose to do so.

The first spreadsheet tab of the workbook contains Guidance on the proposed updates and how to return comments/ask questions, as well as a summary of the current and proposed updates to the records series.

To get this schedule on the docket for the December 14 Records Oversight Committee meeting, reviews need to be returned by CoB Wednesday, November 29.

There are three records series for which an increase in retention is being proposed, so those will be unavailable in the Certificate of Records Destruction (RM-3) form until the updated schedule is made active.
