Good morning,

 

The City of Chesapeake charges for active labor time over 15 minutes (calculated at the rate of pay, not including any benefits, multiplied by the time spent), copies ($0.10/page), CDs/DVDs ($5.00/disk), and postage.  We do not charge for attorney review of documents.  I prefer to send responses out via email and save the requestor the materials and postage fees; however, when the requestor has requested otherwise or when the documents are too large to send via email, we send via USPS.

 

If a requestor asks for an advance estimate, we will wait until the requestor agrees to the amount.  Likewise, if the estimate is greater than $200, we require payment of a deposit prior to the fulfillment of the request.

Good Morning

I am sure that this topic has been discussed before but I am going to throw it out there again.  would it be possible for those willing to share their FOIA policies and procedures my way?  We are meeting to discuss a revision to include calculation of fees.  I already have the standard information from code and FOIA Advisory Council.

Thank you for your assistance with this.  I have a short timeline (that’s how it always seems to go)
