Ed -

I have found more records on FOLD 3 that pertain to military pensions than
anywhere else - yes, it's a subscription and if you look around the www you
might find that someone has put these records on a private website, but FOLD
3 has the most comprehensive collection with easily readable files.

Subject: [VA-ROOTS] Widows Revoluntionary War Pensions

Where might I obtain the pension files for two Revolutionary War widows
residing in Frederick County, Virginia? Quoting from Bockstruck's
Revolutionary War Pensions, awarded 1775-1905":

"Duncan, John. Va. - . He died in service about the last of May 1779. His
widow, Mary Duncan, and two children were furnished £20 support in Frederick
Co., Va. on 5 Sep. 1780. She was on the pension list in 1785."

"Duncan, Samuel. Va. - . He died in the service. His widow, Mary Duncan,
and two children were furnished £20 support in Frederick Co., Va. on 7 Sep.
1779 and on 5 June 1782."

Thanks,
Ed Smith
