Hi,

The Library of Virginia’s Records Oversight Committee has approved an update to GS-29, Criminal Justice Training Academy. This was a complete overhaul, so each series has been altered in some fashion. Please review the schedule carefully.

Notable changes are described below:

100139, Instructor Records

Increase in retention length from 5 to 25 years after separation.

1014598, Class Records and Lesson Plans

Combined lesson plans with the class records series. This means that the retention on lesson plans has increased from 25 years to 50 years to provide more context for the class records. Series 101459 is now defunct.

100143, Certification Standards Documentation

Formerly “Standard Operating Policies and Procedures.” Change in title and description more accurately reflect the true contents of the file.
