Put the records in a freezer in zip-lock type bags to stop mildew growth and pull moisture out of the papers. Once dry, the pages will be easier to separate and review.

All,

Our agency had a water leak in the building over the weekend, and approximately 12 file boxes of "commingled" records were severely damaged. The problem is these records were in their current unsorted state when I arrived, and I have no idea what their value may or may not be...

Can anyone give me some advice on what to do next...?

Respectfully,
