Good afternoon,

I have been presented a retention question regarding the retention period for revenues received from confiscated items under the Guide to Equitable Sharing<http://www.justice.gov/criminal/afmls/pubs/pdf/04-2009guide-equit.pdf> (see top of page 36). I am working with my local Commonwealth Attorney's Office to determine the proper series for these records. They pertain to revenue received from the confiscated items that are then appropriated in the CAO budget and spent using other standard series such as vendor invoices, accounts payable, and purchasing records. However, the Federal Program states a five year retention versus the three year retentions on most GS 02 items.

If you also handle these revenues from confiscated items, would you please share how you manage/retain/destroy?

Thank you for your time and consideration.
