Chad,

I talked with the manager of our Occupational Health office and Virginia Beach does not provide these services. However, she wanted to advise you to be cautious about dispensing medications. If you hand them an individually-wrapped packet/dosage, and they take it themselves, that is different than if you give them the medication and document the transaction. Then it becomes part of their medical record (GS 3, Item 010232). She suggested you contact the Virginia Board of Pharmacy<http://www.dhp.virginia.gov/Pharmacy/> for further clarifications.

If we can answer any further questions, please let us know.

Thanks for everyone's feedback regarding to Digital Imaging Vendors! I received many helpful responses.
I have an another unrelated question for the group. In Arlington, we have an on-site health clinic (it is a wellness program for employees) . This is a place where the nurse practitioner will provide Advil for a headache, etc. They do not treat workplace/occupational injuries - it is not that type of program.
Does anyone else provide these services? I am trying to determine the appropriate retention of the records generated by this unit, and there does not seem to be a series that is applicable.
Thanks and have a nice weekend.
Chad
