We have been using Laserfiche for more than 5 years now. We try to do a lot of our scanning at down times. We had to make a choice several years ago that we could not go back in the older years and ever get caught up.
So the best thing to do is pick maybe one year prior to your current year’s work and go from there. Quick Fields has really worked for us…just be sure you keep up with your templates if you change computers.
Bar coding is the easiest and fastest to scan so if you can get all your printed documents like business license, etc. bar coded then you at least would have your account number to bring in other detail information on that account.
We have been able to actually get rid of some of our main office files in the last year and are still working on downsizing our archival room. It’s always a work in progress. It’s also an added benefit to have all employees involved in this
even if they are just handling one document type scanning that way they are more familiar with the software and its always an added bonus to the office. We piggy backed onto this software with the school board. Also make sure you
have plenty of licenses slots (or whatever they are called), sometimes when we are trying to store documents all of the spaces are taken up so we have to wait, since we share with the School Board.
Hope this helps some.

Good morning!
Our town is currently looking at Laserfiche as an option for our records management. If your organization is already using Laserfiche, could you please respond with a short comment about how well it works for you, what you like most/least, what other uses you've found for Laserfiche in your organization, and whether you'd recommend the program?
Thank you,
Dallin Kimble
