This challenge is complicated by the existence of information silos. In most organizations there are paper and electronic records. Paper records are generally onsite and offsite, electronic records may be in on premise systems, cloud solutions or both. There are frequently enterprise solutions and departmental solutions. If not managed properly all these information silos can lead to information chaos.
