In celebration of this year's Records Management Month, the Records Analysis Section of the Library of Virginia will be hosting a half-day event on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the Library.

Beginning with registration at 8:30 a.m., which will include a coffee service and light refreshments, there will be two sessions, and the event will conclude at noon.

Ready, Set, Action! Meeting Your Responsibilities as a Records Officer will begin at 9:00 with Library of Virginia records management analysts highlighting what it takes for a records officer to get started in the right direction. It will end with breakout sessions where attendees will participate in a give and take on their experiences of meeting the responsibilities.

Following a short break, at 10:30 Recordkeeping Success - Make It So! ARMA International's Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles will inform participants on how proper records management practices can help their organization thrive in the face of information challenges, as well as how to benchmark, improve, and govern their organization's records using The Principles and ARMA's associated Maturity Model. Kim Kindrew, CRM and Records Manager for Jefferson Lab, will deliver this session.

While this event is open to all who actively manage public records across the commonwealth, designated records officers are highly encouraged to attend and participate.

Registration is $20, limited to 100 attendees, and closes at 6:00 p.m., April 9. No refunds will be issued after that time, but a substitute may be sent.
Payment by credit card at the time of registration guarantees you a seat. For those who absolutely must pay by check, carefully follow the instructions under the "Show other payment options" link on the order page. All checks must be received by April 8 to guarantee a spot. Registration is being handled through Eventbrite, and from there you may contact Records Analysis if you have any questions. Please do not reply to this message.
