The subject new book is now available and is a result of collecting for over a decade of references to "lost" wills. For the study a lost record was considered in two ways: first, as an item from a location where court records have been destroyed, and second for records that are found in unexpected places-oftentimes far from their point of origin. Also included are references to abstracts or transcripts of wills found in periodicals. Numerous sources were consulted as detailed on four pages of introductory notes. Many will references are from chancery suits found in the Library of Virginia's chancery records project and might be also found online at the Library's website. 240 pp., paper, perfect-bound, alphabetical, $35.00 postpaid.
