Hi;

Shred It comes bi-monthly to our site and services 12 shred bins throughout the campus with onsite service.

They charge us for time, not by volume so it costs anywhere from $100 to $250, depending on how full the bins are and how long it takes to shred.

There are no costs for the bins and other additional costs with the exception of a fuel surcharge for $3.

In your contract you can stipulate that the fuel surcharge be set at a certain amount, rebate depending on fluxtuation in gas price, or no fuel surcharge which is what we do as a non-profit state agency.

We only contract delivery services that will absorb the fuel surcharge as a cost of doing business.

Best Regards,

Both Iron Mountain and Shred-It have mobile shredding services; some of our offices have been using Shred-It with good results.  Iron Mountain handles our records storage but I haven’t used them for mobile shredding but I’m sure they would provide excellent service.

What are your experiences/recommendations for shredding services?

We currently use a major vendor for pickup and destruction of loose paper in locked containers, as well as shredding by the SRC and another vendor for boxes stored at their facilities.

I am also interested in a shred truck to handle large-scale shredding of boxed material on-site.
