I am researching Puckett/Pucket/Poquet/Pinkett, most of the time the name is spelled correctly as Puckett. I have found information on a land deed of Thomas Hobby Puckett which proves they were in Raleigh Parish, Amelia County in 1777, but I don't know where Raleigh Parish was located at that time. Virginia did not REQUIRE the recording of births until the 1850s. What is the surname in which you are interested?
