Georgia, thank you for bringing to light the conflict regarding retention of Disaster Planning Files.  And, in answering the question, more questions/issues surfaced.  All of these will be addressed in this or the next schedule review cycle, so, everyone, please stay tuned to Va-ROL.
 
For now, the appropriate series for local records is 005243 on GS-16, with the retention "retain until superseded".  To keep a plan once it has been superseded creates the possibility of implementing the wrong plan when an emergency occurs. I can't find any benefit from retaining previous versions that outweighs the potential fall out should one of them be inadvertently activated.  Rebuttals, anyone?
 
For those using State General Schedules, series 012274 on GS-108 should be followed.  Again, any changes to that will be posted to the Library of Virginia's Website, and announced on this list.
