Good Afternoon Ms. Meeks,

I am the Records Analyst for the City of Hampton, and in addition to my
records duties, I also administer the city's Laserfiche software and
applications. My position is within the Information Technology
department, and I report directly to the IT Project Manager whom reports
directly to the IT Director.

Previously, the individual who I assumed the position from in December
2010 was the Records Manager for Hampton. That individual had more
project management responsibilities and reported directly to the IT
Director. I was hired with the notion that I would have the opportunity
to eventually move from Analyst to Manager with some experience under my
belt.

Before coming to the City of Hampton, I was mostly a career student (ODU
08' and 2010!) so the only reason my position is an Analyst is my lack
of experience.

I hope this helps. Attached, please find the descriptions for both the
Records Analyst position, as well as the old Records Manager position
for the City of Hampton.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you,

Christine Bullard, MPA

Old Dominion University will be recruiting for a full-time records
manager position in the next few months. I am in the process of writing
a position description for the position and would appreciate it if any
of you would be willing to share position descriptions from your
organizations. I am particularly interested in hearing whether the
records manager at your organization is a contract, at-will employee or
a state classified position, and to whom the position reports in your
organizational structure. We want to ensure that we align our new
position appropriately at the University, especially with electronic
records being such an important issue.

Thanks!
