My position is within the Information Technology department, and I report directly to the IT Project Manager whom reports directly to the IT Director. Previously, the individual who I assumed the position from in December 2010 was the Records Manager for Hampton. That individual had more project management responsibilities and reported directly to the IT Director. I was hired with the notion that I would have the opportunity to eventually move from Analyst to Manager with some experience under my belt. Before coming to the City of Hampton, I was mostly a career student (ODU 08' and 2010!) so the only reason my position is an Analyst is my lack of experience. I hope this helps.
