Fellow sloggers:

I recently encountered a mention of a will of John Lightfoot suggested to have
been recorded in James City County Court in October 1777. As you can all
expect, there was no citation of any sort as to the source of this will or its
location.

Interestingly, it did identify Lightfoot's children -- as they can be discovered
from other documentary sources, so it could be a credible will and not someone's
imagination.

Has anyone ever encountered this will, and if so, where?

I tried the indexes at LVa and the Virginia Historical Society with out success.
He does not appear in Crozier's _Williamsburg Wills_ (from the Chancery Court
records).

I know there are other scattered remains of James City's "burned" records
lurking out there in family collections, etc., but so far I can't this will.

Any thoughts on Lightfoot, or additional caches of JCC records would be
appreciated.
