In 1730 Michael Dearmont willed land to his grandson, William Millard in Stafford County. (now Fauquier) My thinking says there should be a Dearmont daughter who married a Millard but Dearmont does not name one. At the very end of his will, (a codicil of sorts) after leaving so much to his son, Michael and a daughter, Catherine, he barely mentions a daughter, Mary Carewick, who he leaves one shilling sterling. Nowhere else is the Carewick name mentioned as a witness, etc. leading me to believe either her husband was deceased and she was well cared for or she was not in good graces with the family. Perhaps she had been married to a Milliard prior to Carewick or perhaps she had a son out-of-wedlock by a Millard. Are there marriage records this early in Stafford Co. and if they have been published would some kind person look for Mary Dearmont's marriage/marriages? Any help/thoughts gratefully appreciated. M.
