I wondered whether the headwaters of NC's Cutawhiskie (et al) Creek were possibly located across the boundary line in Virginia, which would place it in old Nansemond Co. VA. But no, its headwaters are just east of the town of Woodland so this creek runs primarily west to east and lies entirely in Hertford Co. NC......unless the NC-VA boundary line dispute or beliefs affected this during colonial times: http://www.virginiaplaces.org/boundaries/ncboundary.html http://www.surveyhistory.org/va_&_nc_bounary_line.htm Neil McDonald ----- Original Message ----- From: "Joy King" <[log in to unmask]> To: <[log in to unmask]> Sent: Thursday, July 08, 2010 7:51 AM Subject: Re: [VA-ROOTS] location of point George, In this time period there are numerous NC references (with variants) to the present Cutawhiskie Creek in present Hertford Co., NC.
