This is probably a stupid question, but what does the term "where I
lately dwelt" mean. I assume that it means where I lived in the past.
Is it recent past, or could it have been many years in the past?

My ancestor, Robert Adams, left to his sons the land "where I now live".
He left to a daughter the land where "I lately dwelt".

I just want to make sure that I understand the exact meaning, if there
is one.

Thanks
Al Adams
