DEQ is on Facebook, Twitter, and Flickr. DEQ's use of these tools supplements our existing means of communication. They are enabling us to increase our interaction with the public. We also hope they will promote better understanding of DEQ's environmental programs, projects and initiatives. Our main objectives for these tools are to: * Extend the reach of DEQ announcements, messages and new data results. * Provide a more "user friendly" presence for people who regularly use web tools. * Provide an additional means for interaction with the public. * Provide "real-time" coverage of events.
