There are some excellent digital maps at http://geonames.usgs.gov/pls/gnispublic which can be enlarged and otherwise manipulated. The site is also valuable because you can enter historical names and come up with a location. It isn't huge -- 15 1/4 inches by 20 1/4 inches -- but it is readable (I used it for the same purpose you contemplate). And for that price I wouldn't be shy about making notes on it. http://www.historicurbanplans.com/ The map you want is listed in their index as "Virginia and Maryland 1755" Stephen Ballard To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe, please see the instructions at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-roots.html Checked by AVG - www.avg.com Version: 8.5.375 / Virus Database: 270.13.12/2235 - Release Date: 07/14/09 05:56:00 To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe, please see the instructions at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-roots.html
