Forwarded from the Society of American Archivists (SAA): Help run the Government Records Section! We are looking for candidates willing to help lead the Section. There are two openings on the section's steering committees. Because the section serves archivists who manage all types of government records, we strive for diversity in the steering committee. Currently, we need to fill two positions on the steering committee. One is for a local government archivist. The other is for a federal government archivist. Self-nominations are most welcome, as well as suggestions from others. Nominees must be members of the section and of SAA. Steering committee duties are not onerous, but it is an excellent way to begin to be active in the Society of American Archivist and ensure that the section meets the needs of its members. We need nominations by June 15. The nominating committee consists of Bill Carpenter [log in to unmask] ; Jeanie Child [log in to unmask] ; Scott Sackett [log in to unmask] and myself. If interested, send any of us an email or give me a call. Thank you for your help, Lucy Barber Lucy Barber [log in to unmask] 202-357-5306 fax: 202-357-5914 Director for Technology Initiatives National Historical Publications and Records Commission National Archives and Records Administration 700 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, Rm 106 Washington, DC 20408-0001 To UNSUBSCRIBE, change options, or subscribe, please see the instructions at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-rol.html (If using Netscape, must have version 6.1 or higher to view the above page)
