The Library of Virginia Book Talk Series Rhett Butler’s People by Donald McCaig Monday, November 26, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. The Library of Virginia is pleased to announce that award-winning writer Donald McCaig will be with us to discuss and sign his new book Rhett Butler’s People on Monday, November 26, 2007 at 6:00 p.m. Fully authorized by the Margaret Mitchell estate, Rhett Butler’s People is the astonishing and long- awaited novel that parallels Gone With the Wind. McCaig’s masterful storytelling reveals the life and times of the dashing Rhett Butler. Through Rhett’s eyes we meet the people who shaped his larger-than-life-personality as it sprang from Margaret Mitchell’s unforgettable pages: Langston Butler, Rhett’s unyielding father; Rosemary, his steadfast sister; Tunis Bonneau, Rhett’s best friend and a onetime slave; and Belle Watling, the woman for whom Rhett cared long before he met Scarlett O’Hara. This event is free to the public. The Library of Virginia is located at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond. Free parking is available under the building. www.lva.virginia.gov 804.692.3900 Other Upcoming Events: Thursday, December 6, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. Book Talk and Signing: Houses of the Founding Fathers by Hugh Howard For a listing of more events at the Library of Virginia, visit http://www.lva.lib.va.us/whoweare/events/index.asp .
