Everyone, We have just added a new resource to the Library of Virginia's Records Management pages. It is titled "Box Specifications", and it provides the most current procedures for ordering boxes to transfer records to either the State Records Center or the Library of Virginia Archives. http://www.lva.lib.va.us/whatwedo/records/box_specifications.htm <blocked::http://www.lva.lib.va.us/whatwedo/records/box_specifications.h tm> These specifications address a recent development with ordering archival/acid-free boxes from the State Contract. Essentially, there was a problem with the Archival boxes on the State Contract, and the Library can no longer accept archival boxes ordered from the state contract. The guideline lists several sources were appropriate archival boxes can be purchased. The list will be updated periodically, so you can check back in the coming weeks for more ordering options.
