The next program in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the Treasure House lecture series will be held at noon on Tuesday, 19 September 2006 in the conference rooms adjacent to the lobby of the Library of Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond. The speakers will be VCU Professors Roice Luke and Darrell Walden and Nedra Luke. They will present a program entitled Whispers from the Dust: The Freedmen Records and African American Family History, which will recount the history of the Freedman's Bureau and the Freedman's Bank and provide updated information on the treasures to be found in their records. There is free underground parking for Library patrons but please note that space is limited.
