Those of you who will be in the Wytheville area this Saturday are
encouraged to attend the 1-day conference "Recources for Family History"
sponsored by the Virginia Genealogical Society and the Wythe County
Genealogical and Historical Association.

The conference is being held at the Holiday Inn, 1800 E. Main St.,
Wytheville, Va., this Saturday, October 30, 2004, from 8:45 a.m. to 3:15
p.m.  Registration begins at 8:15, and walk-ins are welcome!  Also present
will be vendors of books, software, forms, and other items of interest to
researchers.

Featured topies are "Fraktur as Often Overlooked Primary Sources," "'Family
Register' Broadsides," "Using Chancery Suits for Genealogical Research,"
and "Beyond the Family Tree: Writing a Family History."  Speakers are
Corinne Earnest, Russell Earnest, Mary B. Kegley and Charles A. Bodie.
