Gov. Dinwiddie's Proclamation provided for bounty land as partial compensation for military service by men who served in the 1st VA Infantry during the French and Indian War. It operated as did the later bounty land grants for service in the Am. Rev. Could someone refer me to this act and those who received land. There were others in Cumberland County who also claimed land.
