The next program in the Virginia Heritage Resource Center's Mining the Treasure House lecture series will take place at noon on Tuesday, 21 September, 2004 in the conference rooms adjacent to the lobby in the Library of Virginia at 800 East Broad Street in downtown Richmond. Audrey C. Johnson, Ginger G. Peterman, and Dana M. Angell of the Library of Virginia Picture Collection staff will present an illustrated talk, "Keeping the Past Alive: Preserving Your Family Photographs," on the importance of taking care of personal photograph collections, proper housing and storage, recording important identification information, and handling and cleaning of images. Digital technology and other new methods will be discussed. Examples will be shown from the Library's extensive collections. There is free underground parking for Library patrons.
