There were and remain many Colonial records in county archives,
however I would usggest that you first check with the archives of
the states that were colonies.

How about it, PA researchers, where are the records pertaining to
those areas of VA that became PA, and vice-versa?  Paul

Hello List:  The Southwest part of Pennsylvania was a part of
Virginia and I
am guessing that this was prior to 1781.  Washington County, PA was
formed in
1781.  Would the LVA have any records, and would this area be called
Monongahela?  How would I find the sources, if any?
