Actually I have found naming a child for the first wife in my VA. Ambrose family. I did not realize why it was done. I thought respect for the first wife, by the second, as they were raised in the same village. The first son was named George Robert, after the father and Robert after the grandfather. The other children's names are not common and seem to be named for military heroes. Any takers on that one? > Sure'd be a lot of mad 2nd wives if we did that today... > > -Bev Brooks Cavender > > To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe please see the instructions at > http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-roots.html > To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe please see the instructions at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-roots.html
