I have run across the word "miller" many times as a way to distinguish between men with the same names, as well as SR. & JR. (for example William HODGES, SR., William HODGES, JR. and William HODGES, miller). I know I read somewhere at one time that SR. & JR., in a Census or PPT listing for example, does not always mean Father & Son. Does "miller" stand for the profession or something else? Thanks.
