The Fairfax Circuit Court Historic Records Center's monthly blog offers its March 2017 edition: "The Fairfax Family and the Columbian College in DC."

This month's issue examines a tuition bill for Reginald Fairfax for his education at Columbian College in the District Columbia in the 1840s - what we know today as The George Washington University. It provides insight into the opportunities available for wealthy families to seek higher education, and we also examine the George Washington connection to the first school established in the District of Columbia.
