All - I recently ran across an article from the April 15 1945 edition (section 2-B) of the Richmond Times Dispatch mentioning that the newspaper(s) of Richmond Virginia were the only one(s) who failed to report the assassination of President Lincoln for a full three days after it occurred. The article was somewhat ambiguous about which paper or papers were still operating at that time and the conditions they were operating under in the week immediately following the surrender at Appomattox that might account for the lag in delivering the news. Does anyone know of a good resource for further reading on this? -- Keith Kirkland Winchester, VA ______________________________________ To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe please see the instructions at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-hist.html
