How many members of this list have read Harry Turtledove's "The Guns of the
South"? In it, Turtledove posits that South African apartheid supporters
have figured out how to travel through time and bring machine guns to the
Southern forces. He plays out the war from there, with Lee coming to
support gradual abolition. It's a good read and an interesting thought
