May I recommend what are considered three classic books pertaining to the period of the 1920s. First is "Middletown" by Robert and Helen Lynd this is a must read for anyone exploring the time period between 1900-1930. Second, but by no means less important, are the books written by Frederick Lewis Allen. I would suggest two of his well known works: "Since Yesterday" and "Only Yesterday." These three books should give you some insight and a better foundation to understanding the 1920s.
