Dear Mr. Jackson, According to Mary R. Miller, Place-Names of the Northern Neck of Virginia, page 106, the point was proably named for a Capt. Henry Munday. An engagement with the British and Virginia militia took place there on August 3, 1814, during the War of 1812. Stuart Butler ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stephen R. It is located on the Yeocomico River off the Potomac River. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ______________________________________ To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe please see the instructions at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-hist.html ______________________________________ To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe please see the instructions at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-hist.html
