Thanks to several friends for off-list advice - it looks like the footnote dropped a few words between bundle and Alderman . . . The papers are from Coutts & Co bankers in London, filmed by Virginia Colonial Records Project in 1958. Author probably used the film at UVA . . . but its also at LVA, Va Hist Soc, and CW library. Survey reports are accessible online through LVA website : just do a catalogue keyword search on "Coutts and Co." Again special thanks to S.B., H.G., K.S., and B.V. For my part (having once helped computerize the VCRP indexing) this is a bit of a "duh!" moment :) Jon Kukla ________________ www.JonKukla.com <http://www.jonkukla.com/> On Mon, Nov 1, 2010 at 2:46 PM, Jon Kukla <[log in to unmask]> wrote: > I’m trying to track down the location of some manuscripts that, it turns > out, were not accurately cited in a book published in 1987 by a responsible > author and a good university press.
