The execution of Teresa Lewis by the Commonwealth of Virginia -- the second woman to be executed by the state -- will take place this month barring intervention by the courts or the governor. This prompted LVA archivist Roger Christman to look back at the case of Virginia Christian the first woman executed by the state in 1912. Christman’s entry in this week’s Out of the Box blog presents 51 documents from the archives that tell the story from several different perspectives. http://www.virginiamemory.com/blogs/out_of_the_box/ ______________________________________ To subscribe, change options, or unsubscribe please see the instructions at http://listlva.lib.va.us/archives/va-hist.html
