In preparation for the upcoming Civil War Sesquicentennial, the Lincolnarchives
Digital Project is scanning the federal records located at the National Archives
facilities, placing them online at www.lincolnarchives.us  We are coming into
our eighth year of scanning, and currently have over 6000 documents online, and
over half a million digitized. Every document dated March 4, 1861 through April
15, 1865 is being scanned in color at 600 dpi.

In addition to documents, we have newspapers, photographs, political cartoons,
and maps of the period from both the National Archives and the Library of
Congress.  Included are podcasts from the annual Lincoln Symposium held at the
National Archives facility in College Park, Md. every March for the years
2005-2009.  Finding aids are available for record group and entry descriptions.

This project is indexing the holdings of the National Archives for the Civil War
years, all the way to the box level.  Data is free up to the point of viewing
the actual document.  A subscription of $15 per month or $150/yr. is required to
view the document.  The option to purchase documents without a subscription is
being added at this time.
