St. George Tucker immigrated to Virginia right before the Revolution.  His older brother emigrated, slightly earlier, to Charleston, S.C.

As an aside, the St. George Tucker papers, and the Tucker-Coalter-Brown papers, at the Swem Library at William and Mary, are incredibly rich.  Philip Hamilton mined them for his excellent family study, but his book just scratches the surface.  Davidoff used them in his under-appreciated EDUCATION OF JOHN RANDOLPH, but otherwise the collection has not been well utilized.  Grad students take note!
