Sorry I did not realize you are a Heming. Yes the Hemings have been treated Shabbily by all, but as a matter of national History, I believe the settlement of Jeffersonian paternity would go a long way to settling a lot of current issues about Jefferson and the founding fathers. The Madison Hemings do not care to examine the issue further. They do not want their ancestor dug up and tested. So, why should they be asked to pay for what is only a salvo for some of the Jefferson descendents in VA. Reading some of the passages in Jefferson's Children, I understand that some of the Hemings were not welcomed with open arms when they first attended a family reunion (at invitation no less!), some even refusing a handshake or a smile. This behavior is not conductive to making those folks inclined to open their wallets and pay to prove what they already know from family tradition to be true anyway. Let those who are denying that "sufficient" proof exists pay for that which they will find acceptable.
