Those of you fortunate enough to have participated in the 2007 Virginia Forum will remember the outstanding panel discussion that included Virginia Tech History Professor Dr. Peter Wallenstein and his new book, Cradle of America: Four Centuries of Virginia History. If you missed it, here's your chance to make up for in by attending the first inaugural Liberty Lecture Series, an educational collaboration between St. John's Church Foundation and the Valentine Richmond History Center. The talk will be Thursday, October 18 at 11 am, and reservations may be made by calling (804) 648-5015. Dr. Wallenstein will discuss his exciting new history of Virginia that takes us back in time before Jamestown, and relates Virginia's history with that of the nation's, thus the title, Cradle of America. This is a great book to have or to give in this 400th Anniversary of Jamestown, and Dr. Wallenstein will be glad to sign your copy after the lecture; there will be books for sale on the day of the signing. Call in advance to reserve your copy of this important book. St. John's Church is located at 2401 East Broad Street, Richmond, VA, and is a National Historic Landmark.
