Reading Henry Weincek's message earlier today about Thomas Jefferson's
debts and his living well off credit reminded me of Jefferson's very
last letter, which Jeff Looney published in the Virginia Magazine of
History and Biography three years ago (VMHB: 112 [2004]: 178-184).

Jefferson's last letter, written on 25 June 1826, little more than a
week before he died, was to a Baltimore merchant about the purchase of
some wine to be paid for later.
