Turner to George Washington or Thomas Jefferson..., " then no, you didn't, 
but I was quoting you.

By the way, your explantion of how a teacher might do so eased my mind a 
bit.  Still wonder if there is really a need to use Turner as an example.  I 
recall my own disappointment at finding out when I was long out of grade 
school that I had been fooled into thinking he was more than he was.
