Actually it would be almost more appropriate to use replicas of Spanish and 
Dutch coin, especially the Spanish 2 reale/pistareen. The two reale was one 
of the most circulated coins in Colonial America and Spanish currency became 
the basis for United States coinage. Spanish coins remained in circulation 
well into the 19th century.
