It very quickly oxidizes and becomes very brown. Whatever you mix with bear grease or walnut oil is pretty durable. Clay mixture is very durable and would need touch-up after a few days for detailed designs. Other color clays will also provide yellow and white colors. Charcoal would provide black. Using grease/oil as a base makes the paint fairly durable and waterproof. Mere swimming won't remove it. It either has to wear off or be scrubbed off. Not having soap would make removal difficult. More oil would be needed to loosen up the pigments and allow them to be wiped off. I'm basing these comments on experience from the fellow whose photo is linked in my previous post. Regards, Tom A.
