Robert Lewis Dabney has an entry in Vol. 3 of the Dictionary of VA Biography. There are also several full-length treatments--but by all means, start with the DVB. Williamson was the professor of engineering at VMI. He was born in Virginia in 1813 and died in 1888. He served during the war on the staff of Stonewall Jackson and he penned his memoirs a few years before his death.
